Project F5

Project Summary:

F5 is designed to build a bridge between students and the competitive labor market, developing social and technical skills that increase chances of work insertion and better opportunities in a country with low education and high inequality levels. The project’s activities include conducting workshops to train students on job-hunting and job-preparedness skills that their universities do not provide and a mentorship program that helps them land their first significant job.

General Objectives:

Increase the youth employment rate in Nicaragua.

Specific Objectives:

  • Develop hard, soft, and technical skills that provide competitive advantages for Nicaraguan youth in the labor market.
  • Ensure access to resources and reduce social inequalities.

Implementation Period:

  • 2020-2023: Designed and implemented the project's primary activity: interactive training workshops.
  • 2024: Implemented a second phase alongside the workshops: a mentorship program to help students land their first significant job.
  • Created a Notion blog serving as a digital platform that provides access to resources for youth to remain competitive in the labor market.

Geographical Zones of Action:

Nicaragua: Department of Managua, León, and the Caribbean Coast.

Number of Beneficiaries:

  • 2020 - 2023: Over 300 students received training via online workshops (50% men and 50% women).
  • 2024 - present: Over 70 students from private universities in Managua and León (40% men and 60% women).
  • Total: Over 300 students.

Implementation Partners:

  • March 2024 - August 2024: 6 academic institutions and 1 international partner.
  • 2020 - 2023: 10 partners, including NGOs and universities.
